Desert Inferno

Based in Southern Arizona in the country of cactus and dangerous men, Rachel O'Brian loves her life and her career as a successful oil painter.  With her widowed father, she lives on a remote ranch which has been in their family since the late 1800s.

While out on a plein air painting trip, she comes across a dying man which leads to her meeting with Border Patrol Agent, Jake Donovan, a man as hard and tough as the land he is sworn to protect. Rachel, who hasn't thought much about a relationship with any man, is instantly attracted and ready to become involved with someone different than anyone she's known.

Jake sees the beauty in Rachel but is in equal proportion determined to not be involved with a woman clearly out of his league in every possible way. He is a powerful man, with a life free of emotional entanglements which is just how he wants it. Hence the story begins as these two deal with their different goals but equally strong attraction.

Can it be that simple? Of course, not. Southern Arizona in the wilderness is a land of extremes and men who will do anything for power. Hidden within Rachel's world, as a confederate of her father, is one such man who has a history with Jake as well.

So there is danger, sexuality, and the struggle of two people to not only work out a relationship satisfactory to them both but also survive the net closing around them.

Rain has been a blog buddy of mine for about six years and I've enjoyed reading her writings there. I knew that she has written some novels and when I heard that they were publishing one on Amazon.com for the Kindle I decided to buy & read it, even though I am not really a fan of the Romance type book. So I bought it, I think the day it was released into the wild on Amazon, possible the first purchase.

"Desert Inferno" is not what I thought a Romance book would be like. Apparently there are different styles of them, which does make sense. I can't really call it a mystery as you know who the bad guy is early on but it is a great story to read about the characters involved and how they relate to each other. They are interesting, believable people and it is fun to read about how their relationships develop. And there is plenty of action all through the story.

She has said there will be another released before too much longer and I look forward to getting and reading it as soon as it is out.

Thank you so much for your review, Dick. It means a lot to me as doing something like this is very insecure but to hear from a reader and know they liked the story, better yet, that they got from it what the writer hoped readers would get, that means even more. :)

Hi Rain,
I have downloaded your book From Here to There and look forward to reading it. If ever you require the services of a proof reader, I am just starting out. I have had recommendations on Amazon from Scott Nicholson, Jeff Dawson, Lyn Horner and Edie Ramer for proofing I have done for them. Their books had already been proofed but I still found errors. Various authors I have spoken to think that my rates are very reasonable.
If you would like to contact me, my email address is public on Amazon under Bevharro.
Cheers
Bev

Hi Bev and thank you for downloading the book. Right now I don't feel I can afford to put any money into editing these stories. I am not sure it would increase sales as the biggest problem is getting them seen and getting reviews. I have gone over them again and again but know there always is something I can miss. I can see where if I ever actually start to sell them, I might give it a consideration and will remember you. Thanks for letting me know about your service.
